On March 17th, eighty brave shavees went under the razor as their supporters cheered them on and enjoyed the festivities at our St. Baldrick’s cancer-fighting event. To the tune of silly games, scrumptious desserts, Kaladi coffee, gourmet hot dogs, a fire engine, chair massages, mini-facials, and live television coverage, we are proud to announce that our fun-filled St. Baldrick’s event generated a total of $33,500 to fund research for a cure for kids’ cancer! Can shaving your head conquer kids’ cancer? We certainly think so. On March 17th, Accent of Style and the Anchorage Firefighter’s Local 1264 are teaming up to host a fun-filled event to fight kids’ cancer … one bald head at a time.
Between now and then, you can donate (with no risk to your lovely locks) any dollar amount to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. After the 17th, your money will be given in full to provide research grants enabling doctors and scientists at over 200 institutions to pursue the most promising new cures for childhood cancer and to help make clinical trials available to more children than ever before. St. Baldrick’s is the world’s largest volunteer-driven fundraising event for childhood cancer research, having already raised more than $69 million though events just like ours.
Every three and a half minutes another child is diagnosed with cancer. Every year, thousands of volunteers (like you?) get their heads shaved in honor of those little ones fighting for their lives. Attention cyberspace! Accent of Style has officially made a grand entrance. To promote our redesigned website, our informative blog, and our Facebook and Twitter pages, we are giving you the opportunity to earn several entries into a drawing for an impressive collection of products and gift cards. Stay tuned for a photographic sneak peek and a list of the overflowing contents of the prize basket. Here are the rules of the game. You may earn entries as follows:
1. You can earn three entries by visiting our website and searching for the answers to the questions below. Write your answers on a sheet of paper and seal them in an envelope with your name and “Giveaway Contest” written on the outside. At your next salon or spa appointment, leave it with the front desk ladies. If your answers are correct, we’ll drop your envelope into the entry box. If we do not have your name, we cannot count your entry. Here are the questions. Happy hunting!
